WA: Esmeralda withdraws from conference

PERTH, Feb 23 AAP - The Perth-based company being blamed for a cyanide spill that caused
an environmental disaster in Central Europe last month has withdrawn from an investment
seminar in London.

Esmeralda Exploration was one of six Australian mining companies due to be showcased
at the seminar for investors on March 1.

An Esmeralda spokesman said the company had decided to withdraw because of the timing.

"We feel it would be inappropriate at the moment, given the circumstances," he said.
