Western Cape Home Affairs non-functional, says portfolio chairman.(News)

The Home Affairs Department again came in for some stick in parliament yesterday with the parliamentary watchdog deeming the Western Cape department “non-functional” and expressing sympathy for the frustrated client who after waiting for three years resorted to a gun to demand an ID.

“Poor Kabelo, I understand his frustration and that of all other Kabelo’s,” the National Assembly’s portfolio committee chairman on Home Affairs Hlomane Chauke, said yesterday.
